The milk is delivered by personable and friendly people, who tailor their approach to the customer’s individual needs.
Pensworth offer a service whereby the customer can order whatever amount of milk they require on a daily basis when the delivery vehicle arrives. There is no pre-ordering or standing order requirement necessary for Pensworth to make a delivery of milk. It has been demonstrated that this approach significantly increases the sales volumes of the milk with-in an outlet.
If a customer requires a Sunday delivery or a second delivery this can be provided.
A freephone, next day, order system is in place for the supply of the Pensworth range of other dairy products and goods, such as eggs, bread, flavoured milk, yogurts, juices and cream.
Our standard milk products are of the highest quality and are produced at our approved factory in Southampton.
All our wholesale milk products are in Auspac plastic containers (considered in the industry to be the premium container), with double seal screw lids and laminated labels. The milk containers utilise a re-sealable cap, which is easy to open and re-open as many times as required. The cap is also leak resistant. The poly containers used by Pensworth are difficult to break and when dropped usually do not spill their contents.
The milk is fresh from the farm and delivered in a non-standardised format, allowing the great taste of farm fresh milk to be retained. The milk is produced and processed under the best standards of hygiene, allowing the product to have a good shelf life. The product is always stored at the correct temperature throughout the chill chain.
Labelling is designed for the end user making it clear which milk type and size each container is. The label also provides clear date stamping to one side and bar-coding on the other. The milk is widely available as full fat, semi-skimmed and skimmed types in several sizes of container (1pt, 1ltr, and 2 ltr).
Pensworth is a specialist supplier to the convenience and small shop sector and is a nominated supplier of milk and dairy goods to several major groups including Londis Holdings plc, Appleby Westward - Spar, L & F Jones Holdings Ltd, Palmer and Harvey and T & A Symonds. In addition, Pensworth supplies many independent retailers throughout the South and South-West.
Our coverage area takes in a large part of the South and South-West of England (see map on distribution web page). All our supplies are delivered in our custom designed fleet of chilled delivery vehicles based on a 6 or 7 days per week service.
Pensworth was established to provide the highest quality of service to the semi-retail trade. We understand the requirement to simplify the billing process and query management process for our group customers and have sophistication of systems to achieve this.
